-Virginia Tech graduate (Class of 1977, Forestry/Environmental Conservation)

-27 years Horticulture Director at Virginia Historical Society (includes Virginia House and the 5 acre Headquarters site), Richmond, VA

-1990 studied on full scholarship in England at the Attingham School for the Study of the English Country House.

-Past Southeast Region Board representative (1996-2001) to the national board of the American Conifer Society.

-Published 15+ articles on gardening subjects for Virginia Gardener and other state gardening magazines

-Has appeared numerous times on Virginia Home Grown on WCVE TV Richmond, Public Broadcasting as well as on the Victory Garden, Bob Villa’s PBS series and other Television programs.

-Presently, Horticulture Specialist at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College/Goochland VA campus.

-Successfully applied for and awarded 2 grants to establish and expand the American Conifer Reference Garden on JSRCC campus.

-W/ wife Beth has a 1.5 acre display garden at home in Mechanicsville, VA.
